It’s St George’s Day on 23rd April; the day to celebrate all that’s great about England – and what better to celebrate than wonderful Norfolk.  It’s a fantastic time of year here in our little corner of England – the village gardens all around us are starting to fill with the colour of spring blooms,

Thrigby Wildlife Gardens are lucky enough to have 2 white storks take up residence amongst the chimney stacks of the Hall and have been spotted “engaging in mating rituals”.  If they produce eggs these would be first wild stork eggs recorded in Britain since 1416 – almost 600 years!  

Our Fine City of Norwich is always a wonderful place to visit and easy to get to from Dairy Barns too.  Historic Norwich Castle is well worth spending some time and currently they have a fabulous exhibition of pieces on loan from the British Museum entitled “Roman Empire: Power and People”.  How lucky are we

It’s St Patrick’s Day on 17th March, celebrating the patron saint of Ireland.  We love seeing all our Irish friends wearing their shamrock and dressed in green.  It’s also the day when the Lent restrictions on eating and drinking are lifted so we’re always delighted to welcome our Irish guests to enjoy a stay with
