Every November and December, we turn our beautiful barn into the Dairy Barns Flower School. Fully decorated with fresh festive displays using lots of local foliage, we invite you to come and immerse yourself in Christmas and create something beautiful for your own home.

Our Flower School Story
My mum, Jill, is an amazing flower arranger and has been teaching and demonstrating for more than 40 years. Her claim to fame is her silver gilt medal for flower design with NAFAS at the Chelsea Flower Show. I grew up surrounded by flowers and was involved in flowers and flower design from a very young age. Before opening the Dairy Barns, I did a 2-year floral design course and was also a NAFAS demonstrator travelling all over the region arranging flowers. We ran flower workshops locally for many years, and when we opened the barns, we continued up until 2012. Wedding flowers then took over, as did my young family. As of Christmas 2024, we decided it was the right time to bring the flower school back to Dairy Barns, and we loved being featured on the BBC with our Traditional Christmas Wreaths.

What You Can Expect At Our Flower School & Workshops
All our workshops are suitable for all abilities; they are welcoming, informative, with lots of hints and tips and most importantly, fun, with the end result being something beautiful that you have created to decorate your home with. A perfect pre-Christmas experience, leaving you full of festive cheer!
The workshops are held in the main barn, decorated with gorgeous Christmas decorations, and you will be welcomed with a selection of drinks including Prosecco, Mulled Wine and good coffee, along with delicious festive nibbles. The barn is nice and warm with underfloor heating, and we have a well-lit undercover car-park area. The barn is fully accessible to wheelchair users.
Prices include all materials, tuition and refreshments; we ask that you bring flower scissors or pruners! There will be lots of local fresh foliage from the farm and plant material along with beautiful Christmas ribbons and sparkly bits and pieces. Groups will be kept small, ensuring everyone can ask questions and get the assistance they need.
