The charm of a working farm

Dairy Barns form part of Lound Farm and the family farming business, which has been in the family for three generations.

Our lovely Barn & the B&B room were originally our working dairy farm, with over 100 Cows being milked in what is now our beautifully renovated bedrooms, and many calves were born in what is now the undercover barn car park, how things have changed!

We are still very much a working farm with 360 acres of arable and grazing marshes. We have sheep grazing through the winter months and a suckler cattle herd in the summer. Ian grows wheat, barley, peas, potatoes, and grass for hay and haylage.

Plenty of farm tracks, meadows and autumn stubble fields add up to a beautiful place to spot some of our incredible Norfolk wildlife.

So, if you come to stay with us, take a walk around the farm and along the country lanes. If you’re lucky, you may well see a member of the Red Deer herd who lives in the woods behind the farm and regularly crosses the fields to graze, and we also see Muntjac, Chinese Water Deer and hare.

The farm is a “birder’s” delight, and depending on the season, we regularly see the following….Barn owls, Cranes, Marsh Harriers, Swallows, House martins, Skylarks, Pink Footed Geese, Kingfishers, and Yellowhammers.
